The bunk house at Kailzie is well positioned for those wanting to fish on the Tweed.

Kailzie Gardens have a private 2 mile stretch on the River Tweed for fly fishing (for enquiries or booking call 01721 720009). For bait- and fly-fishing ponds information call 01721 729020.

Walkers of all abilities can enjoy the routes in the Tweed Valley, which range from level parkland walks along the Tweed to slightly more strenuous hill walks such as Cademuir. None of the walks demand more than a normal walking ability. The Bunk House itself is right at the entrance to Cardrona Forest.

Part of the Southern Upland Way passes nearby at Traquair over the Minch Moor to the Three Brethren
cairns and on to Selkirk.

For those who would like something more adventurous, the surrounding countryside boasts the highest hills in the Scottish Borders. The local council has published a leaflet called Peebles_Walks which you can download here.
